Einige Vintage Supros hatten sog. Reso-Glass Bodies, also aus zwei gegeossenen Kunststoff-Schalen gefertigte Semi-akustische Korpi. Diese Gitarren aus den 1950ern und frühen 1960ern sind bei Sammlern wegen ihrer Optik, aber auch wegen ihres speziellen Tones gesucht, jedoch auch dafür bekannt, nicht sehr stabil gebaut zu sein. Für die Americana Series wurde diese Konstruktion dahingehend verbessert, dass jetzt das untere Teil aus hohl-gefrästem Mahagoni besteht, auf das ein Reso-Glass Oberteil geschraubt ist. Ihre sehr authentisch reproduzierten Vistatone Single-Coils, teils kombiniert mit Piezo-Pickup in der Brücke, bieten viel Charakter. Supro Americana Series in unserem Showroom:

The Westbury is a 21st-century update of the Supro electric
solidbody guitar. The elegant comfort of the 1960’s-era beveled-edge
Ozark body shape and the mighty sound of the original field-coil pickups
have been enhanced with an ultra-fast satin neck, Tune-o-matic bridge
and updated wave tailpiece.
The timeless curves of this vintage Supro Ozark solid body guitar
design have been enhanced with ergonomic, set-neck construction, a
satin-neck finish with a comfortable 12” radius, dual-action truss rod
and gently rolled fretboard edges.
Our fast playing, satin finish set neck is joined by a Tune-O-Matic
Bridge, contemporary Kluson-style tuners and a newly designed “Wave”
tailpiece to give the Island series guitars world class performance and
modern reliability with authentic Supro style and vibrant tone.
The time-tested tone-wood recipe of an alder body paired with a
25 ½”-scale maple neck and rosewood fretboard combine with the vintage-correct pickups to produce an exceptionally dynamic
playing experience.
Blending vintage American tone with refined set-neck design, the
Supro Island Series models are intended for the professional musician who needs an
ergonomic and versatile guitar capable of handling most genres of music
with authority. The unique Gold Foil pickups found in the Supro Island Series
guitars are faithful reproductions of the original “Clear Tone” units
developed for Valco by Ralph Keller in the early 1950s. The unique magnetics found in the Supro Gold Foil pickups utilize a
“field-coil” design to provide excellent string-to-string balance and
broadband frequency response with remarkably low noise for an over-wound
single coil. This signature clarity of our Gold Foil pickups makes them
perfect for use with all types of effects and over-driven tube amps.
The Westbury’s dual-pickup configuration lets the player
switch effortlessly between warm, single-coil neck pickup sounds,
throaty bridge tones, or a perfectly balanced, parallel combination of
both pickups for rhythm work.
